POSITION: Wildlife and Cultural Guide
HOURS OF WORK: STATUS: Seasonal. Part-time and full-time positions available May – mid-October.
EXPECTED HOURS: 35 hrs per week
WAGE RANGE: Competitive hourly rate

Sidney Whale Watching seeks an Indigenous Cultural Guides to safely lead guests on water based cultural excursions from Sidney, BC through the Gulf Islands. We are looking for passionate people who can deliver the ultimate cultural experience for our guests, while maintaining professionalism and sharing local knowledge.

You possess outstanding communication and guest service skills, and knowledge of significant cultural sites. First Nation culture, and natural history are a key part of your language for you to deliver a world-class interpretive experience as an ambassador of the Tsawout First Nation and W̱SÁNEĆ People.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Your primary objectives are to provide guests with safe cultural experience by boat and land.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Enthusiastically deliver legendary guest experiences
• Ensure safety of guests on land and boat
• On-going preparation, and continuous learning of first nation culture to become an expert in your field
• Support other staff in performing their duties
• Reporting and record keeping
• Uphold agreed upon Codes of Conduct and Operations Procedures

• Indigenous Ambassador training provided

• Available holidays and weekends
