Community Dinner for Young Parents
Join Us for Dinner
5:30PM – 8:00PM
Tsawout Multipurpose Room
Child minding will be available.
Tsawout is taking a significant step toward reclaiming child welfare by initiating the process to bring much-needed wellness programs and services to our Nation. With the support of Jordan’s Principle, Tsawout is advocating for the construction of a building dedicated to these essential services. To ensure that this new facility truly meets the needs of our community, we are seeking input from our members on what “prevention” services and programs should be included.
We invite young parents, particularly those who have had their children removed by MCFD, those with an open MCFD file, or those who need extra support, to join us for an important dinner and discussion. This is a unique opportunity to voice your needs and aspirations for the future of your family and our Nation. Urban Matters, a trusted partner with extensive experience in navigating the complex application process, will facilitate the evening, ensuring a welcoming environment for all. Amber and Monique will likely be in attendance to listen to your thoughts and ideas.
The event will be held in the multipurpose room, where parents can enjoy dinner and conversation, while children are cared for in the gym, with dinner and games provided. This is more than just a meal; it is the first step in shaping the future of child welfare in Tsawout, taking control away from government agencies and placing it back in the hands of our community. Your voice matters—come and tell us what you envision for the well-being of our Nation’s children.
