Holiday Mental Health Info & Resources

Mental health and Addictions Counsellor Updates:

For National Addiction Awareness date held on November 30th at TFN gym, thank you for the elders and community members that were able to attend and share their experiences to help families and relatives talk about struggles and seek treatment for addictions.

We had service providers attend from Island Health: Journey- Intensive Substance Use Day Program and Integrated Mobile Crisis Response Team (IMCRT), Victoria Police Department, Saanich Fire Department, Dudes Club Society, Pauquachin, Tsartlip, Songhees and FNHA. In total we had 16 service providers, 6 elders and 10 community members. This will be an annual event and we hope to see more families and relatives join us to lessen the judgement and shame this disease brings onto people living with it and their families.

Treatment Center:

In the last 2 months, 3 members have chosen to enter treatment. If anyone is ready to take that step, please reach out to fill out an application. You will not need to do it alone and it does not have to be filled out at the office. Meeting your needs is at the top of our priority and we will do what it takes to help you through this process. Please email the Mental Health & Addictions Counsellor for more information: mhac@tsawout.ca or drop by the Wellness department if you prefer.

For after hours support when the office is closed, this magnet will be distributed. Please take a picture of it on your phone if possible, to have it on hand as well.
